bag pattern

I first started this bag while working at Jimtown Pizza one night. I hand-dyed the wool with Kool-aid and I needed something that would show off the pretty colors, but wouldn't take much yarn. This is it!

Needles: Size 7 or 8 U.S. I used eight, but some of my pattern testers used size seven.
Yarn: Any worsted weight should be fine. I used Lion Brand Fisherman's wool and a little bit of acrylic because I did not have enough wool. ((80-120 yards are needed, more if you would like the bag to be bigger.))

Pattern:
CO about 65 stitches. You can vary this to control pooling or to get the most bag out of your yarn.
Knit several rounds.
*K2tog, yarn over* around
Knit until you have reached your desired length, or are nearly out of yarn
*Knit 5, k2tog* around (depending on how many stitches you cast on in the beginning, this may not work perfectly, but it's not a big deal.)
Knit one row.
*Knit 4, k2tog* around
Knit one row.
*Knit 3, k2tog* around
Knit one row.
*Knit 2, k2tog* around
Knit one row.
*Knit 1, k2tog* around
Knit one row.
*k2tog* around.
Break yarn and thread it through remaining stitches, pull tight.
Weave in the ends.
Cast on 3-5 stitches for i-cord.
Knit until your i-cord is about 12 inches long. It is totally your choice how long it should be in the end. If you don't have enough yarn, then a contrasting color would be cute, too.
Weave in ends.
Weave the cord into the eyelets every other one.

Ta-da! A cute bag!

Great pattern! So customizable and easy to follow. Thanks for posting. I used it to use up some cotton yarn to make a project bag.
